Health Navigator at HETT 2019

Health Navigator attended HETT on 1st and 2nd October. Hosted at London ExCel, HETT is a tech-focussed healthcare event that brings together leaders from the NHS and industry. Health Navigator was hosted by the AHSN Network’s Innovation Exchange, which featured some of the UK’s most innovative healthtech startups.

The event got off to a great start, with Dr Liz Mear from the Innovation Agency AHSN featuring Health Navigator’s patient video as part of her opening address.

Our main event at HETT was the presentation of our randomised control trial interim results for our service that predicts and prevents avoidable urgent and emergency care. This presentation featured our CEO Joachim Werr, alongside colleagues Chris Sherlaw-Johnson (Senior Research Analyst) from the Nuffield Trust and Tim Jones (Principal Analyst for Strategic Development) from East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.

The results presented by the Nuffield Trust showed that Health Navigator’s deployment with Vale of York CCG has delivered 34% reduction in A&E attendances, 24% reduction in elective attendances, and 24% reduction in non-elective spells. Furthermore, East Kent presented an extensive analytics piece conducted by the trust themselves, demonstrating a 32% reduced probability of patients on the Health Navigator Proactive Health Coaching intervention having a non-elective admission. The East Kent analysis also demonstrated impressive impact on cost-effectiveness of healthcare, with savings of up to £1,300 per patient per year, along with improved survival for patients receiving Health Navigator’s proactive health coaching.

Thank you to the AHSN network for making this very productive participation possible!
